Lahore is approximately 15 kilometers from the Indo-Pak border, which is incidentally 32 kilometers from Amritsar. The border is divided by Wagah village on the Pakistan side and Attari village on the Indian side.
Besides the location of many of the revered places in the Sikh religion, Punjab is also home to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites are located in Punjab, including the Shalimar Gardens, the Lahore Fort, the archaeological excavations at Taxila, and the Rohtas Fort to name a few.
